Meet Jennifer Leo
Jennifer Leo has been making waves as the Events & Affiliations Director at RCCS for the past year and a half. With a robust career spanning 25 years in conference and event management, Jennifer has brought expansive knowledge and expertise to her role from the moment she started.
Jennifer's journey in the events industry has primarily been managing annual meetings for nonprofit associations, focusing on healthcare-related events. Her most notable and long-standing client was the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA), which is where she first connected with many of her current RCCS colleagues, including Melody Mulaik, Sheila Sferrella, and Raif Erim. Transitioning to RCCS marked Jennifer's first in-house event planning role, a shift she embraced with enthusiasm.
“I actually reached out to Melody for a reference when I decided I wanted to switch into an in-house events role,” Jennifer recalls, “and it just so happened that RCCS was looking to hire for that exact position. It was a real star aligning moment.”
At RCCS, Jennifer manages the logistics for the company's presence at 12-15 tradeshows annually, ensuring that the booth arrives on time and is set up correctly while coordinating with the marketing team and subject matter experts (SMEs) who will be on-site to optimize interactions with both current and potential customers. Additionally, she organizes internal events, such as webinars and the CROWN annual seminar, drawing on her background in event planning to ensure all bases are covered and everything runs smoothly for our staff and attendees. Jennifer also manages RCCS's partnerships with various associations, continually fostering these important industry relationships.
Jennifer's decision to join RCCS was easy, influenced by her long-standing professional relationships with several of the company’s team members and her respect for the company's ethical standards and collaborative culture. She appreciates the diversity and dynamic nature of her role, noting that no two days are ever the same, which keeps her engaged and motivated.
Beyond her duties at RCCS, Jennifer is actively involved in the event planning community at large. She participates in a local meeting planner networking group and will be attending a one-day summer camp aimed at brainstorming solutions for common industry challenges. Through RCCS, Jennifer also plays a crucial role in coordinating the dissemination of valuable information from RCCS experts to association members, helping healthcare professionals navigate the complex regulatory landscape.
Jennifer is an avid traveler, dedicating much of her free time to exploring new destinations. She boasts an impressive travel record and will have visited all 50 states by the end of this year.
“When you work in event planning, you tend to accrue a LOT of travel miles. It’s one of the reasons I’ve been able to travel so much and a huge perk of my past, very travel-heavy, career.”
With her children heading off to college, Jennifer is also exploring new hobbies, including crocheting.
Jennifer Leo's combination of professional expertise, passion for event planning, and commitment to ethical practices makes her an invaluable asset to RCCS and the wider healthcare event planning community.
